Research collaboration occurs when two or more organisations collaborate in researching and developing IP.
The collaboration involves trading in IP in that the collaboration will often involve either:
- the assignment of IP from one collaborator to another, or
- the licensing of IP from one collaborator to another, or
- the granting of options to negotiate an assignment or licensing of IP, or
- combinations of assignment, licensing, and options to negotiate different parcels of the IP arising from the collaboration.
Research collaborations with Hong Kong’s universities and research centres can be arranged by contacting their respective commercial offices. Click here for details.
